Hi! We are Bryn Roshong and Wes Hannah. We’ve been farming in the Hudson Valley for seven seasons and can’t imagine any work more rewarding. Before our current operation we ran Second Wind CSA in Gardiner, NY, an organic, no-till vegetable farm. We’ve worked on farms from the Hudson Valley to New Mexico, and we couldn’t be happier to call the HV home. For the last five years, we’ve been volunteer organizing with the Hudson Valley Young Farmers Coalition, focusing on strengthening our regional young and beginning farmer community.
From 2014-2016, Wes has worked at Hearty Roots Community Farm, a seven hundred member CSA in Clermont, NY, growing about twenty-five acres of organic veggies per year. In 2017, he will be working full-time for us at Solid Ground Farm, on our new land. Wes also works with the National Young Farmers Coalition, a grassroots coalition of beginning farmers advocating for the next generation of American growers.
When she’s not tending cattle or chickens or helping with the harvest and weeding, Bryn works as the operations manager at The Farm Bridge in Kingston. The Farm Bridge is a local food processing facility that preserves hundreds of thousands of pounds of Hudson Valley produce every year.
Utah is the beloved farm mascot who prefers to spend her days sniffing flowers and snoozing in sunlit fields. Good dog.
